MGS RIM R935 Epoxy Laminating Resin (Drum/net 230 Kg)
Resin MGS RIMR 935 is a high-performance, low-viscosity epoxy infusion resin system designed for applications requiring exceptional heat resistance and mechanical strength. It is suitable for boat and shipbuilding, automotive components, tooling, and molding, especially in environments with demanding static and dynamic loads.
$31.88
RIMR 935 is a bisphenol A/F-based infusion resin, specifically designed for critical structural applications. It pairs with curing agents RIMH 936 and RIMH 937, providing precise control over curing and processing times. This resin ensures compatibility with a range of production methods and environmental conditions. Its solvent-free and filler-free formulation minimizes void content, delivering high-strength, heat-resistant components with non-tacky, high-gloss surfaces.
When used with RIMH 936 or RIMH 937, RIMR 935 ensures superior mechanical performance, high thermal resistance, and excellent fiber wet-out, even for high areal-weight fabrics.
Application:
- Boatbuilding
- Automotive parts
- Tooling
- High-performance structural components
Mixing and Preparation
- Measure the resin and curing agent accurately:
- RIMR 935 with RIMH 936: 100:29 ± 2 parts by weight or 100:35 ± 2 parts by volume.
- RIMR 935 with RIMH 937: 100:38 ± 2 parts by weight or 100:45 ± 2 parts by volume. Ensure a clean and dust-free workspace with temperatures between 25°C and 35°C (77°F - 95°F).
Application Techniques
RIM (Resin Infusion Molding)
- Description: Resin is infused into dry reinforcements under vacuum pressure, ensuring even saturation and eliminating air pockets to produce strong, uniform composites.
- Best For: Creating complex shapes, minimizing waste, and producing lightweight, durable structure.
Hand Layup
- Description: Resin is applied manually to the reinforcement materials with tools like brushes or rollers.
- Best For: Prototyping and small-scale projects.
Processing Temperature
- Recommended Processing Temperature Range: At temperatures between 15 °C and 50 °C (59 °F-122 °F), preferably 25 °C - 35 °C (77 °F - 95 °F), infusion, hand lay-up and others.
Curing Process
- Initial Curing: Room temperature curing requires heat treatment at minimum of 50°C (122°F) before demolding.
- Curing Agent Compatibility: Compatible with MGS RIMH 936 and RIMH 937, offering 2–5 hours pot life based on conditions.
- Post-Curing: Heat at 60°C–100°C (140°F–212°F) for faster curing; up to 150°C (302°F) for maximum TG and properties.
