EPIKOTE™ Resin MGS RIMR035C is a high-performance, low-viscosity epoxy resin system ideal for composite manufacturing and repair. It is compatible with glass, carbon, and aramid fibers, delivering excellent mechanical properties and efficient infusion processing. With user-friendly handling, color-coded curing agents for consistent mixing, and a cost-effective design, this resin system is a trusted choice for various industrial applications.
Application:
- Rotor blades for wind turbines.
- Boat and shipbuilding.
- Sports and recreation equipment.
- Model construction and tooling.
Mixing and Preparation
- By Weight: 28 ± 2 parts curing agent per 100 parts resin.
- By Volume (for RIMH037): 33.7 ± 2 parts curing agent per 100 parts resin.Special attention must be paid to mixing.
Ensure no clouding is visible in the mixing container, and thoroughly scrape the walls and bottom during mixing
Application Techniques
RIM (Resin Infusion Molding)
- Description: Resin is infused into dry reinforcements under vacuum pressure, ensuring even saturation and eliminating air pockets to produce strong, uniform composites.
- Best For: Creating complex shapes, minimizing waste, and producing lightweight, durable structure.
Processing Temperature
- Recommended Processing Temperature Range:15°C to 50°C, with optimum performance between 20°C and 35°C. Higher temperatures can shorten the pot life
Curing Process
- Initial Curing: Room temperature curing ensures components are workable and demoldable.
- Curing Agent Compatibility:Compatible with EPIKURE™ Curing Agents RIMH034, RIMH036B, RIMH037, and RIMH038
- Post-Curing:Necessary to achieve full mechanical properties. Typically performed at elevated temperatures.
