EPIKOTE Resin L 20 is a high-performance epoxy resin designed for use in composite applications across aerospace, marine, automotive, and industrial sectors. It is optimized for laminations involving glass, carbon, and aramid fibers, offering exceptional mechanical properties, heat resistance, and durability. Paired with EPIKURE™ Curing Agent H91, it provides a robust system for high-strength, reliable composite structures.

Application:
  • Gliders and motor gliders
  • Motor planes
  • Model airplanes
  • Boat and shipbuilding
  • Sports equipment
  • Molds and tools
Mixing and Preparation
  • Mixing Ratio: 100 parts of EPIKOTE Resin L 20 to 20 parts of EPIKURE H91 Hardener
Recommended Application Techniques
Wet Layup
  • Description: Resin is applied directly to the reinforcement materials.
  • Best For: Prototyping and small-scale projects.
Vacuum Bagging
  • Description: Combines wet layup with vacuum pressure to improve laminate quality.
  • Common Uses: Aerospace, marine, and automotive industries where high strength and precision are critical.

Application Tip: Mix the resin until it is completely clear with no cloudiness. Avoid over-mixing or under-mixing, as either can compromise the curing process.

Processing Temperature
  • Recommended Processing Temperature Range: 10°C to 50°C, Optimal Range: 20°C to 40°C
Curing Process
  • Initial Curing: Achieved at room temperature; allows for workable and demoldable components post-curing.
  • Curing Agent Compatibility:Compatible with EPIKURE™ Curing Agent H91.
  • Post-Curing:Heat treatment between 50°C and 80°C is recommended to enhance thermal stability and mechanical properties.
