MGS RIMR235 is a high-performance, low-viscosity epoxy infusion resin system formulated for demanding composite applications. Developed by Westlake Epoxy, it is designed for processing glass, carbon, and aramid fibers in a variety of industries. This solvent-free and filler-free system ensures excellent wet-out, high mechanical properties, and consistent results in critical manufacturing processes.

With its wide range of compatible curing agents, MGS RIMR235 supports both fast and slow reactivity options, offering flexibility to meet specific processing and application needs. It is widely used in rotor blade production for wind turbines, boat and shipbuilding, tooling, molding, and sporting equipment manufacturing. This system provides outstanding operational performance and durability, with a service temperature range of -40°C to +70°C after proper curing.

Application:
  • Rotor Blades for Wind Turbines
  • Boat and Shipbuilding
  • Sports Equipment
  • Tooling and Molding
Mixing and Preparation
Mixing Ratio:
  • RIMR 235 with RIMH 233: 100:34 ± 2 parts by weight or 100:40 ± 2 parts by volume.
  • RIMR 235 with RIMH 235: 100:34 ± 2 parts by weight or 100:41 ± 2 parts by volume.
  • RIMR 235 with RIMH 236 or RIMH 238: 100:34 ± 2 parts by weight or 100:42 ± 2 parts by volume.
Application Techniques
RIM (Resin Infusion Molding)
  • Description: Resin is infused into dry reinforcements under vacuum pressure, ensuring even saturation and eliminating air pockets to produce strong, uniform composites.
  • Best For: Creating complex shapes, minimizing waste, and producing lightweight, durable structure.
Processing Temperature
  • Recommended Processing Temperature Range: 15°C to 50°C
Curing Process
  • Initial Curing: Precuring at room temperature, though slow hardeners may require curing at 40–50°C
  • Curing Agent Compatibility: Compatible with RIMH233 (fast), RIMH235, RIMH236, and RIMH238 (slow)
  • Post-Curing: Final properties achieved with post-cure at elevated temperatures
