SKU: MGSLH635-X2.5 Category:

Epikote Resin MGS LR635 is a high-performance epoxy-based laminating resin system designed for a wide range of industrial applications. Free from solvents and fillers, this versatile system is optimized for use with glass, carbon, and aramid fibers, ensuring superior strength and durability in finished components.

The system includes a variety of curing agents, ranging from very fast to slow reactivity, allowing customization to suit specific project requirements. The curing agents can also be mixed to achieve intermediate reactivity, making it adaptable to diverse processing conditions.

Application:
  • Rotor blades for wind turbines
  • Boat-building as laminating and adhesive resins
  • Sporting goods
  • Molds, tools, and other devices
Mixing and Preparation
  • Mixing Ratio:
    • By weight: 30 ± 2 parts curing agent per 100 parts resin.
    • By volume: Varies between 33 ± 2 and 37 ± 2 depending on the curing agent.
  • Thorough mixing is essential to ensure proper curing. Pay special attention to the walls and bottom of the mixing container
Application Techniques
Wet Layup
  • Description: Resin is applied directly to the reinforcement materials.
  • Best For: Prototyping and small-scale projects.
Vaccuum Bagging
  • Description: Combines wet layup with vacuum pressure to improve laminate quality.
  • Common Uses: Aerospace, marine, and automotive industries where high strength and precision are critical.

Application Tip: Mix the resin until it is completely clear with no cloudiness. Avoid over-mixing or under-mixing, as either can compromise the curing process.

Processing Temperature
  • Recommended Processing Temperature Range: 15°C to 50°C.
Curing Process
  • Initial Curing:Precuring at room temperature. Components become workable and demouldable.
  • Resin Compatibility:Specifically formulated for use with EPIKOTE Resin MGS LR635.
  • Post-Curing:Final properties achieved after curing at temperatures exceeding 40°C.
