Industry Solutions

Aerospace and Defense

Aerospace manufacturers face unprecedented pressure to innovate while maintaining the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and sustainability.  Components must withstand extreme conditions while meeting strict regulatory requirements.

MGS Westlake Epoxy Systems deliver advanced resin solutions designed to meet the rigorous standards of aircraft, spacecraft, and military components.

The MGS 335 and 285 systems, in particular, stand out for their customizable cure rates, superior strength properties and safety, ensuring optimal results in various manufacturing environments. Ideal for applications in the construction of aircrafts like the Cozy, Diamond, and Cirrus, as well as other demanding projects, MGS resins are trusted for their outstanding static and dynamic strength, ease of application, and long-lasting durability.

Marine

In manufacturing, composites are molded and cured into durable components like hulls and decks using processes like hand lay-up, vacuum bagging, vacuum infusion and automated robotic systems, ensuring both precision, quality and efficiency. For repairs, these same materials are applied to damaged areas to restore structural integrity, offering a quick, cost-effective, and long-lasting solution.Composites seamlessly bond to existing surfaces, providing a strong and long-lasting repair while adding minimal weight.

MGS Marine Epoxies provide exceptional strength, durability, and versatility, making them ideal for both construction and repair. The MGS 035 system, designed for infusion, ensures superior wet-out and flow characteristics, while the MGS 235 system excels in hand lay-up applications, offering excellent handling and strength for structural integrity,These resins are engineered to provide outstanding crack resistance and fatigue performance, ensuring marine projects can endure the stresses of water, waves, and impact.

Construction and Infrastructure

Materials that deliver superior performance while meeting increasingly stringent regulatory requirements.

MGS Epoxies offer exceptional durability, reliablity, and resistance to damage from water, chemicals, and wear. These high-performance materials are commonly used in applications like grouts and mortars, where systems such as the 240 Epoxy System can be utilized for mortar building and grout installation.

Epoxy resins also shine in applications like trowelable flooring and smooth pebble finishes. Trowelable epoxy flooring is known for creating seamless, durable surfaces that are easy to clean and resistant to wear, making it perfect for high-traffic areas and industrial spaces.

Wind Energy

As wind farms age and turbine fleets mature, companies face unique operational challenges that require specialized solutions to ensure maximum turbine uptime, optimal performance, and extended service life.

To help fiberglass, carbon fiber, and core materials harden when layed up – we have a large variety of resins and hardening agents. Epoxy resins have excellent mechanical, thermal, and chemical strength and resistance when cured – ideal for blade repair.

MGS’s lightweight, rapid-cure bonding pastes are the ideal solution for maintaining bond lines. These pastes offer exceptional fatigue resistance, which is crucial for withstanding the harsh conditions faced by offshore turbines.

Why MGS Epoxy Resins Work

MGS epoxy resins are the ideal structural composite resins. They have high cured stiffness and excellent bond to fibers. They  produce strong and rigid laminates with good heat and chemical resistance.

MGS epoxies should be mixed on ratio and thoroughly mixed and well cured for best performance. Heat cure is not necessary with some hardeners, but technical data sheets should be consulted before each use.
