SKU: MGSLR285-X-1 Category: Brand:

MGS RIMH 936 is a curing agent specifically formulated for infusion and laminating applications. With its low viscosity and balanced reactivity, it offers ease of processing and compatibility with various fabric types, including woven and multiaxial reinforcements

MGS RIMH 936 provides strong, durable curing for composite materials, enabling components to handle high static and dynamic loads. When mixed with MGS RIMR 935 the curing process achieves high heat resistance and non-tacky, high-gloss surfaces, even in challenging environmental conditions such as high humidity or low temperatures

Processing Details

  • Mixing Ratio: Combine RIMR 935 resin with RIMH 936 curing agent at 100:29 ± 2 parts by weight or 100:35 ± 2 parts by volume.
  • Curing Process:
    • Initially cure at room temperature; post-curing at a minimum of 50°C (122°F) is required for full mechanical strength and demolding
    • Direct elevated temperature curing (60-100°C / 140-212°F) significantly reduces curing time.
  • Processing Temperature: Best used between 15-50°C (59-122°F), with optimal viscosity achieved at 25-35°C (77-95°F).
  • Pot Life: Approximately 2 hours at 30°C (86°F), decreasing with higher temperatures (e.g., 1 hour at 40°C / 104°F).
Properties

  • Density: 0.92 - 0.97 g/cm³
  • Viscosity: 10 - 50 mPa·s
  • Amine Value: 550 - 650 mg KOH/g
  • Glass Transition Temperature (TG):
    • Post-cure at 80°C: 90-100°C
    • Post-cure at 100°C: 105-120°C
    • Post-cure at 140°C: 135-150°C
Technical Specifications

  • Application: Infusion and laminating applications for structural and semi-structural components in automotive, marine, and tooling.
  • Shelf Life: 24 months in original, sealed containers.
  • Working Time: Approximately 2 hours at 30°C (86°F).
  • Gel Time: Initial gel time at 30°C is around 2 hours.
  • Pot Life: Varies with temperature; 2 hours at 30°C and 1 hour at 40°C (104°F).
